Learn which cells of your state's row the check reads and where they come from.
Seven cells of one row of the 51-row record-clearing dataset behind this section's chart: whether a misdemeanor, a felony or a DUI conviction can be cleared, the waiting period for a misdemeanor and for a felony, the relief the state offers and the statute behind it, the Clean Slate status and the filing fee. Each row was checked on October 14, 2026; a cell from the CCRC state summaries or the Clean Slate Initiative is marked "Secondary source" in the result, and the others were read from the statute.
The kind of conviction picks the eligibility cell. Its words are quoted as recorded, and the result reads its class from the leading word: yes, limited or no, with a "no" that goes on to name an available route reading as limited. For a DUI conviction the dataset records the rule in its own cell, with the statute section it rests on, for the states where one was read; elsewhere the result says the DUI rule is not confirmed rather than guessing from the misdemeanor rule.
